So I follow this makeup maven, naye0na, on Instagram and she has the most unique and artistic makeup creations. Check her out! Well she uses Inglot eyeliner because it’s super pigmented, waterproof and does well with mono-lidded eyes. I rarely wear liquid eyeliner because my oily crease almost always erases it in a few hours or it’s spreads under my eyes and I look crazy. Even MAC’s waterproof liquid liner doesn’t stay long. However, the Inglot liner lasted longer than the others I previously used. It didn’t smudge everywhere and when I rubbed my eye, didn’t flake off. It’s a keeper!

When I went to Beautylish‘s website, they had a bunch of other Inglot items I wanted to try. I bought a concealer that was lighter than I usually wear because I want to play around with contouring. I also bought the Duraline, which is a product that transforms powdered pigment into a liquid medium. Many people seem to use it to refresh gel liners and I bought it for that purpose. I have a brown gel liner by Bobbi Brown that’s dry and cracked that I need to revive.

And since I wear red lipstick most days, I had to try out their lipstick. I chose #126. And I really like the color. It’s more glossy so I worried it would feather but with a lip liner, should be okay. I ate a huge banh mi (basically like a hoagie) and while some of it came off, I was able to smudge it around so the color was even again. Guess it has something to do with the viscosity of the lipstick. Overall I’m pleased and want to try a matte color next.

Although this is not an Inglot product, I bought a Lucas’ Papaw Ointment which has fermented papaya in it. It also contains petroleum jelly, which I’m weening myself off of. I wear the Vaseline Lip Therapy which I love but realized I’m ingesting a lot of it. Gross. But I love it 😦 Anyway, this ointment is just okay for my lips. I’ve only tried it twice but maybe it will be good for the other uses listed: boils, burns, chafing, cuts, cracked skin, gravel rash, splinters, open wounds, insect bites and nappy rash. I don’t know some those things listed (go figure, it’s an Australian brand) but probably good for an overall ointment to have around.

Hello there lovelies. This is a beauty review. I bought three new products that I have tried and love. This is my face with all three products on (with liquid liner and mascara.) Can’t really tell if the highlighter shows up here but it’s pretty.

First is the Lime Crime Pink Velvetine Lip Stain. I found this brand through Instagram and loved the punchy colors and vegan products. This liquid to matte stain caught my eye and since I’ve been looking for a bright pink lip color I thought this was perfect. It’s got a felt applicator and it’s pretty precise. Since it’s liquid goes on easily and dries to a beautiful matte finish. I can actually kiss my BF with this on without smearing my lipstick on him :o) The only issue is that my lips are actually two different colors. My top lip is a darker shade so it shows up a bit darker. Though I struggle with this issue with most lipsticks so it’s no biggie.

The second product is the Anatasia Beverly Hills. It’s her new Dipbrow Pomade. It’s supposed to be waterproof and great for oily skin. My skin tends to be on the combo and oily side especially in the summer. Hopefully I can use this at the beach and the pool when summer rolls around! I bought mine in dark brown since I wear the medium brown color in her pencil form. It’s still a little light for my taste (since I have jet-black hair) and I’m so glad I didn’t get the chocolate color which is warmer. I think I’ll keep it until I try on the ebony but it’ll probably be too dark. I like the pomade texture and the way it looks on. It’s easier to use the pomade to get my arches right then a pencil surprisingly and I’ve always been a pencil girl. Oh, a little bit goes a long way so pick up a a minimal amount of the product with your brush. I used a Shu Uemura eyebrow brush.

Lastly, I saw this product on a couple different blogs and thought I’d give it a try. It’s TopShop’s Crescent Moon Highlighter. I was using MAC’s Mineralize SkinFinish and it’s nice but I wanted less glitter and more of a pearlescent glow. This is a great product – it doesn’t come with a brush or a mirror but the color is really pretty and not glittery. I almost didn’t want to like it because TopShop had made my shit-list a few months ago when they lost my package of fantastic sale items. But this may make up for it. Haha.

Beauty, Chanel, H20 Plus, Moisturizer, Skin Care, Sunscreen, Ulta

It’s been almost a week of not having my favorite daytime moisturizer. I got the package yesterday and I’m ecstatic. From Ulta, I bought two of the H2O Plus Face Oasis Hydrating Lotion SPF 30 and a free gift of mini items I like to collect and take on trips. Planning on replacing my beat up cosmetic bag with this new one. Also, impressed with the biggest sample I’ve ever received of a moisturizer. Props to DDF. Look at that thing! (The white cylindrical item)

As a firm believer of wearing sunscreen everyday, it took me a good while to find one that wasn’t greasy. With my oily skin, that was shine city waiting to happen. I came across this H2O Plus product and haven’t turned back. Prior to this, I used a Chanel product but liked the higher SPF on the Face Oasis. The only qualm I have about this product is that the packaging isn’t ideal. I can’t tell when I’m running out so it’s like playing roulette. Also I’ve also read many reviews where the dispenser gets stuck but *knock on wood* this hasn’t happened to me.

Oh and the Sea Salt lotion or body butter smells divine!

Although I technically did not have a costume for Halloween, I did dress according to the tradition for a couple of events. One being a Roaring 20’s party earlier in the month for my friend Tiffany’s birthday. See below:

The dress and headpiece were from Zara. Similar items here and here.

Hair: a combination of tutorials from YouTube. For long hair and finger waves. FYSA – I have unruly, thick hair. It was nearly impossible for the finger waves to stay put. But I tried. By the end of the night, my bobby pins were falling out but hey I had fun 😉

For the night of Halloween, I decided to get in the spirit by decorating my face into an interpretation of the Mexican Day of the Dead sugar skull makeup. This was done with tons of black creme liner, black eye shadow, black pencil liner, mascara and half baked eye shadow from my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette.

Gives you the creepy-crawlies, yeah? Haha.

And lastly, for my bestie Nile’s birthday, we went out and I decided on a vampy look with a dark purple lip and my signature smoky eye of course. I wore a skull dress that I bought from a boutique in Australia. Don’t have the link at the moment. The lipstick is Smoked Purple from MAC.
